Coffee Time
Today we looked at several chapters of first and second Samuel. It seemed that all the waiting, pain, and frustration was finally coming to an end for David. His running was over, King Saul had been killed and David had been crowned King of Judah.
Finally a step in the right direction for David's promise to be fulfilled. Even so, his crowning only caused God's chosen people to fight amongst themselves. God's family at war, not against an enemy but amongst themselves. For those who may have been in church before it comes as no surprise to see God's children fighting amongst each other. Divided Israel and Judah could not reach their full potential to impact their world as God's beloved, and neither can we. If believers want to make a difference in their communities we are going to have to stop forcing our own agendas and submit to God's plan. His ways are not our ways and neither are His thoughts like ours. Will you seek His will and then obey. If so, you will find peace that surpasses understanding.
